The difference between the Lutherans and the Roman Catholics: a woodcut by Lucas Cranach, the younger, around 1540. The German title: Abendmahl der Protestanten und Höllensturz der Katholiken.
While the pope, cardinals, bishops, monks, and others on the right find themselves in the jaws of hell, the Lutherans on the left have preached to them from Martin Luther’s pulpit the gospel of Christ crucified from the open Bible, and the risen Lamb carrying his victorious Easter banner. The Lutherans also receive the genuine Lord’s Supper under both kinds, bread and wine.
